Frank Lammers is Michiel de Ruyter (The Admiral)
Frank Lammers (1972) is a Dutch television and film actor. After his graduates in 1995, at the Theatre Amsterdam he plays in various theater companies, including the RO Theater and the North Dutch Theatre (NNT). On television he played leading
roles in ao All Stars and The Enclave. For this last role, he will receive a Golden Statue in 2002. He stars in films such as Wild Mussels, Polleke, Nachtrit, Marathon and The Gang of Oss. For his role in Nachtrit he received a Golden Calf. On stage, he has appeared in Onder Mannen for which he won an Arlecchino in 2001 (prize for best supporting role). Besides Frank’s many appearances on television and in films, he also starred in the musical as ‘André Hazes: He believes in me’, about the legendary Dutch folk singer.
Sanne Langelaar is Anna de Ruyter
Sanne Langelaar is a rising star. In 2013 Sanne graduated from the Amsterdam School of Arts. She started her career in many popular soap series such as Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden (Good Times, Bad Times) and the series StartUp (2014). Sanne played several roles in big film productions like Alles is Familie (2012) and Verliefd op Ibiza “Loving Ibiza” (2013).
Sanne plays the lead role in Michiel de Ruyter as Anna de Ruyter. It’s her biggest role so far.
Barry Atsma is Johan de Witt
As a child Barry Atsma (1972, Bromley, UK) lived in the UK, Greece, Brazil and the Netherlands. His dream was to become a pro tennis player, but he eventually choose law school, which he traded in for acting school just a year later. After graduating he worked with different theatre companies. He had written, played and co-directed this theatre solo about a retarded boy with megalomania, which was inspired by his own brother Rimmert Atsma with Down Syndrome.
On television he performed in series like Baantjer, Finals, Waltz, Voetbalvrouwen en Gooische Vrouwen. Recently he played the title role: Van Gogh, een huis voor Vincent, a four-part mini-series concerning the life of Vincent van Gogh.
After numerous supporting roles and various lead parts Barry won the Gouden Kalf for best male actor in 2009 for his role as Stijn in the movie Komt een vrouw bij de dokter (Stricken), directed by Reinout Oerlemans. For this part in the blockbuster he was also awarded with a Rembrandt Award for best male actor in 2009. Following this project were many leading roles in several Dutch films such as Zwart Water (Two Eyes Staring), the remake Loft, Taped en more recently In jouw naam, Knielen op een bed violen and the romantic comedy Mannenharten. Barry Atsma mainly focuses on his film work, and not only in the Netherlands. In 2013 he filmed his first Hollywood production, Hector and the Search for Happiness, with co-stars Simon Pegg, Stellan Skarsgård and Christopher Plummer. He just finished filming his German debut in the movie Göttliche Funken. Currenly he is filming the BBC-series Tatau.
Lieke van Lexmond is Wendela De Witt
Lieke van Lexmond is a Dutch model, actress, singer and host. She started her career as a model but soon she became the new soapstar in the series Goudkust and Goede Tijden Slechte Tijden “Good Times, Bad Times”. Her talent wasn’t unnoticed and Lieke started presenting big TV-shows. Some shows she presented are ‘So you think you can dance’, Dancing with the stars, Everybody dance now and the X-factor backstage. As an actress Lieke played in Toscaanse Bruiloft “Tuscan Wedding” (2014), Garfield (voice), Achtste Groepers Huilen niet (2012) and Penny’s Shadow.
Roeland Fernhout is Cornelis de Witt
Roeland Fernhout is an actor and presenter and became famous by the general public because of his outstanding role in ‘Zusje’ (1995). He is a part of Toneelgroep Amsterdam since 1999. Roeland also starred in “Phileine zegt sorry”, “Siberia” and “Suzy Q”.
In 2005 Roeland hosted the show RTL Travel wherefore he traveled around the world.
In Michiel de Ruyter Roeland plays the brother Cornelis de Witt of Barry Atsma who is Johan de Witt.
Egbert-Jan Weeber is Willem III
Egbert Jan was born in Groningen in 1981. Despite his dyslexia, he managed to get his diploma at higher general secondary school (English-Dutch translation). He went to the Theatre School in Groningen for four years. When he was 18 years, he made his debut in “Uitgesloten”, a TV production about a boy who is “excluded” from the Jehovah’s Witness’ parish. Egbert Jan was Golden Calf-nominated for his role as Jonathan Stork. The Golden Calf (Gouden Kalf) is the highest Dutch film award. Via supporting roles in a mass of in theatre-productions, TV-series as Finals (2000) and Baantjer (1995) and small film productions, such as Anderland (2003) (dir. Arne Toonen), he quickly became the premier jeune of Dutch film. He played with the Dutch “pin-up” and most popular actress Katja Schuurman, in Oesters van Nam Kee (2002) and had a short relationship with her. “Godforsaken!” (Van God Los (2003)) got the best reviews so far. He is becoming one of the best in Holland. His friends may call him “Eggie”. He lives in Amsterdam.
Tygo Gernandt is Van Ghent
At the age of twelve, Tygo was seen on television for the first time in a promotion video to get the Olympic Games to the Netherlands. His role in the youth series ‘Fort Alpha’ made him famous in the Netherlands. After that, many guest appearances followed, as well as leading parts in television series like ‘De Garage’, ‘Van Speijk’ and ‘Het Schnitzelparadijs’. Tygo starred in feature films ‘Naar De Klote’,‘De Dominee’, ‘Ik omhels je met 1000 armen’ and ‘Dunya & Desie’. For his leading role in the feature film ‘Van God Los’, Tygo was granted with a Golden Calf (the Dutch Oscars) for Best Actor in 2003. In 2005 he won a Golden Calf for his role in the feature film ‘Het Schnitzelparadijs’, but this time he shared the award with his four co-stars.
Tygo is a professional voice actor, giving sound to many Disney animation characters.
Derek de Lint is Kievit
Dick Hein de Lint (born 17 July 1950) is a Dutch film and television actor.
De Lint was born in The Hague. In 1977, he played the character Alex in the film Soldier of Orange, directed by Paul Verhoeven. This role made Derek internationally famous In 1986 he played the role of Anton Steenwijk in The Assault, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1986.
In 2006, De Lint starred in Verhoeven’s Black Book as Gerben Kuipers. He was a regular on the sci-fi drama Poltergeist: The Legacy, which ran from 1996 to 1999. Recently, he played in Nova Zembla (2011), Gooische Vrouwen and Tula: The revolt (2013). In 2012, he starred in the Blender Open Movie Tears of Steel.

Charles Dance is King Charles II
Charles Dance (born 10 October 1946) is an English actor, screenwriter and director. He was set for a career in graphic design before switching to acting in the 1970s, when he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company. His television breakthrough came in the 1984 series The Jewel in the Crown.
In the United States, Dance became best known for playing villains, most notably in the films The Golden Child and Last Action Hero (where he acted against Eddie Murphy and Arnold Schwarznegger respectively). He also played a henchmen of the main villain in the James Bond movie For Your Eyes Only, where he met and acted alongside fellow Thrones actor Julian Glover. He also acted in 2011 in the medieval drama Ironcladas Archibishop Langton. Dance also had a rare “good guy” Hollywood role as Dr. Clemens in Alien 3. One of Charles Dance’s more prominent film roles was as Soames, the MI5 agent who commanded the Cairo Gang during the Irish War of Independence, in the 1996 film Michael Collins.
Dance’s most recent television appearances were as the Witchfinder in an episode of Merlin, as Havelock Vetinari in the Sky adaptation of Going Postaland as Dr. Maltravers in the ITV drama Trinity.

Daniel Brocklebank is Lord Chancellor
Daniel Brocklebank is an award winning English film, television and theatre actor. His film work has taken him all over the world on projects ranging from smaller indie films like Release and Cal by Bonne Ideé Productions to movies like Age Of Heroes from Metrodome and The Hole from Pathé up to multi-million dollar Oscar Winners like Shakespeare In Love for Miramax and The Hours by Paramount, Miramax and Scott Rudin Productions. His many TV movie and mini series credits include Merlin for Hallmark, Oliver Twist for ITV, The Devil’s Arithmetic for Showtime and Sam’s Circus for Columbia Tristar. Daniel has also appeared in various TV series like Waterloo Road, Down To Earth, Casualty and Ed Stone Is Dead for the BBC and soaps like Emmerdale and Eastenders.
In 1999 Daniel was awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award for his role in Shakespeare In Love and in 2010 he won a Best Actor Award at LesGaiCineMad International Film Festival for his role in British indie film, Release.
